Thank you for your inquiry regarding CMS0002v14 (Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan). eCQMs are designed to use clinical data captured in structured fields within the EHR. Clinically equivalent concepts documented in the medical record may be mapped to the codes included in a measure’s value sets to populate measure elements. We are not able to provide guidance on how specific codes can be mapped; however, we recommend you consult with your EHR vendor and clinical partners. If mapping is conducted, you should maintain documentation in case of a CMS audit.

If you have questions about reading the measure specification or understanding data requirements, you may refer to the "Guide for Reading eCQMs" for additional guidance. If you have questions regarding implementing the measure, you may refer to the "Implementation Checklist for eCQM Annual Update" for additional guidance. These resources can be found in the eCQI Resource Center: https://ecqi.healthit.gov/ep-ec?qt-tabs_ep=ecqm-resources&global_measure_group=eCQMs. For inquiries about CMS quality program reporting requirements, please contact the QPP Helpdesk at QPP@cms.hhs.gov.

    • CMS0002v14
    • Mapping of HCPCS would allow more patients meets measures.

Asking for multiple measures but a specific example is from CMS2. On https://oncprojectracking.healthit.gov/support/browse/CQM-7977, it was stated that HCPCS codes could be mapped accordingly to meet the Numerator. Wondering if in any other measures where a HCPCS code would meet the requirements of the Numerator would be appropriate to map accordingly as well?
