Thank you for inquiring about the Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan eCQM. The eCQM version of the measure has explicit LOINC codes to report the screening, and then SNOMED-CT codes to denote the screening results as either negative or positive. The implementation and reporting should be done in consultation with your EHR/measure reporting vendor. Some sites use the explicit codes within the measure, whereas others work with their EHR/measure reporting vendor to map their existing codes and record documentation to the codes within the eCQM value sets. You would need to work with your vendor to determine the least burdensome process for provider documentation and subsequent eCQM reporting.

    • conflicting information impacting how we meet the measure

I have a question on Preventative Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan measure for clinicians. I am getting conflicting information between our EHR and information that I am getting from our ACO regarding this measure and how to proceed if someone has a depression screening. I am being told by our EHR that we have to use a SNOMED code that is found on the VSAC website, but our ACO is telling us that we can use CPT Codes of G8510, G8431, G8432, G8433, and G8511 to describe how documentation was done for negative/positive results. I also found a link to this document which I believe comes from CMS. https://qpp.cms.gov/docs/QPP_quality_measure_specifications/Claims-Registry-Measures/2025_Measure_134_MedicarePartBClaims.pdf Our EHR is saying that we have to use the SNOMED codes because that is using CMS specs. I just want clarification as the CPT codes would be much easier for us to use as they are layman's terms and generic. Thanks! I will attach what our ACO has and what our EHR has so you can see them. I would just like some clarification. Thanks!
