Lack of clarity on the initial population definition may lead to incorrect results
For the 2025 CMS349v7 HIV Screening measure the initial population definition is:
| Patients 15 to 65 years of age at the start of the measurement period AND who had at least one outpatient visit during the day of the measurement period |
In the definition, what does "during the day of" mean? This phrase is new language compared to the 2024 version, and when I read the initial population definition the sentence does not make sense. Is it just an error because when I look at the logic statements for 2024 and 2025 they are the same?
