From Sasha Termaat (Epic):
Tagging on to Saul's comment, I would also be interested in guidance from NQF on the concept of "medication-ordered" having a time duration. Given that logic indicates that the order is usually a single moment in time, I'm curious what is intended when the medication order has a start and end time. Is that referencing a duration between the placing of an order and it's dispense or administration? A time period between when it is signed by a clinician and when it expires or is canceled? Or is the expectation that the start and end time of a medication order will generally be the same because it is a single point in time? Is there further guidance on questions like this that I can refer to?
