Thank you for your inquiry regarding CMS2v11: Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan. As you noted and per the measure specification, the codes "Adolescent depression screening assessment" (LOINC Code 73831-0) and "Adult depression screening assessment" (LOINC code 73832-8) should be used to indicate that a depression screening assessment occurred on the date of or up to 14 days prior to the qualifying encounter. The measure is not prescriptive as to what depression screening tool may be used, so the measure guidance provides a limited list of examples of standardized depression screening tools, which is the list that you referenced. These examples reflect a subset of all of the standardized depression screening tools that providers can use to conduct a depression screening assessment. We are not able to provide guidance on how you should or should not map assessments in your EHR, so we suggest consulting with your EHR and/or clinical partners to determine an approach to ensure that the occurrence of the depression screening and its positive or negative result is captured.

In this HTML file, there are two LOINC codes mentioned that are used for Adult Depression screening assessment and Adolescent depression screening assessment

Is it possible that we link the codes, 73831-0 and 73832-9 to all the screening tools for depression mentioned under the below headings in the HTML file:

      • Adolescent Screening Tools
      • Adult Screening Tools
