Issue with Multiple Results for a single Diagnostic Study

      We have an errata request into HL7 on this subject that has yet to be fully resolved. The same type of issue appears in procedure results as well. HL7 has accepted the errata request for allowing multiple values in a single Procedure Result template but has not yet accepted multiple values for a single Diagnostic Study Result. That kind of leaves things up in the air as to what is the correct way to do this. Moving forward we realize that we need to supply the additional results so our plan is to have the QRDA Cat I document contain multiple Diagnostic Study Result templates and correlate those by the id element in the template.

    • Implementation Problem

      This issue was discussed in CQM-660 but requesting that it be re-visited as previous answer did not provide a solution..

      CMS167/NQF0088 – Diabetic Retinopathy: Documentation of Presence or Absence of Macular Edema and Level of Severity of Retinopathy – requires multiple results for a single Diagnostic Study.
      The QRDA-I allows only a single result.
      The test patient has two results on the .html page but the QRDA file only has one. The logic for this measure (CSM167v1/NQF0088) requires 3 results for a single Diagnostic Study, Result as part of the Numerator criteria. I understand this clinically, but this arrangement at does not appear to be supported in the QRDA file. We are importing QRDA to generate our test patients. I can provide the .html and the QRDA for your reference if necessary. Please advise.
