Below are the stratification definitions outlined for CMS1244v1:

Stratification 1: Pediatric Without Mental Health Diagnosis
All patients younger than 18 years who were seen in the ED and do not have an ED encounter principal diagnosis consistent with a mental health diagnosis. Patients with an ED encounter principal diagnosis consistent with substance use disorders are included in this stratification.
Stratification 2: Adult Without Mental Health Diagnosis
All patients aged 18 years and older who were seen in the ED and do not have an ED encounter principal diagnosis consistent with a mental health diagnosis. Patients with an ED encounter principal diagnosis consistent with substance use disorders are included in this stratification.
Stratification 3: Pediatric With Mental Health Diagnosis
All patients younger than 18 years who were seen in the ED and have an ED encounter principal diagnosis consistent with a mental health diagnosis.
Stratification 4: Adult With Mental Health Diagnosis
All patients aged 18 years and older who were seen in the ED and have an ED encounter principal diagnosis consistent with a mental health diagnosis.

We have a question regarding the implementation of stratification criteria. The measure specification does not reference stratification logic within the IPP or Numerator sections. Given this, should stratification still be configured as part of the measure configuration? If so, could you please advise on the recommended approach for handling this in the measure configuration?
