Thank you for inquiring about CMS0022v13 (Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for High Blood Pressure and Follow-Up Documented). The measure’s Guidance section states, “The measure requires that blood pressure measurements (i.e., diastolic and systolic) be obtained during each visit in order to determine the blood pressure reading used to evaluate if an intervention is needed.” Therefore, any blood pressure outside the encounter time frame (patient-taken or otherwise) will not meet the measure requirements.

For the eCQM Identifier CMS22v13 - Preventative Care and Screening: Screening for High Blood Pressure and Follow-up Documented, do patient reported blood pressures taken on the same day as the encounter qualify as screening or do only clinic measured blood pressures taken during the encounter count towards meeting the numerator?
