    • Want confirmation that we do not need to report a total for this measure.

The commenter is correct – the human readable for CMS145/NQF 0070 does not indicate any stratification. This is because the calculation in question was deemed to be appropriate to the designation of ‘Rate Aggregation’. Please see the Rate Aggregation section of the human readable for further information.

The commenter is correct that the ‘total score’ calculation that is requested by the measure developer is not fully specified in the eCQM.
the total score would be (N1+N2) / (D1+D2). We will consider this suggestion (to fully specify the third ‘total score’ logic) for future eCQM updates.

    • NQF 0070, CMS145v2 CAD BB release notes reference reporting a total, but the eMeasure spec does not. Our current configuration of this measure does not include reporting a total. Is that correct?

For NQF 0070, CMS145v2, CAD BB, in the Technical Release notes,

      http://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Legislation/EHRIncentivePrograms/Downloads/Stage2_Toolkit_EHR_0313.pdf,

in the 2nd bullet the following is noted:

"Divided the calculation of the measure into two rates to reflect the two distinct denominator populations. It is expected that the implementer will report each population score separately and a total score.”

Doesn’t seem to make sense to report a total (what would the denominator be?). Note that the eMeasure spec has “none” for reporting stratification – no mention of reporting a total in the specification.
