      Thank you for your question regarding Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis (CMS108v14/VTE-1), and Intensive Care Unit Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis (CMS190v14/VTE-2).

      1. If a patient was admitted to the hospital and then transferred to the Intensive Care Unit with ICU stay 1 day or more, this patient will be excluded from VTE-1 but will be evaluated by VTE-2 measure logic.

      2. If a patient was admitted to the hospital and then transferred to the Intensive Care Unit with ICU stay less than 1 day (in and out from ICU on the same day), this patient will be evaluated by VTE-1 measure logic, and excluded from VTE-2 measures.

    • Concerned we are not pulling data correctly

      We have a patient that fell into the VTE1 and failed because VTE wasn't ordered, but then was transferred to ICU so fell into VTE 2 category and failed also. Should a patient be in both for the same visit?
