RXNorm code 1658659 is included in the value set for Low Dose Unfractionated Heparin and represents a dosage of 1000 unit/mL.
To be considered "VTE prophylaxis" this dosage would need to be administered SQ.
My question is regarding this dosage if given Intravenously therefore would be assigned the RxNorm code 1658659 for the 1000 unit/mL Heparin, and the SNOMEDCT code 47625008 for the intravenous route administration.
Again, the 1000 unit/mL heparin is included in the "Low Dose Unfractionated Heparin" value set. This dose is not also listed in the value set for "Unfractionated Heparin."
Would the intravenous administration of the 1000 unit/mL Heparin (Low Dose Unfractionated Heparin) be counted as an anticoagulant, therefore would be considered a "reason why no VTE Prophylaxis was given, therefore qualify a patient for the NUMERATOR category?
