    • This patient isn't recognized as having a previous cesarean as a risk factor present on admission.

We have a patient who the Admit diagnosis on her coding summary is O34.211. As such, it doesn't have a "POA" designation, so it doesn't pull in as a risk factor. Within the coding summary is O34.22 Maternal care for cesarean scar defect (isthmocele) with a POA of Y. O34.22 is not in the VSAC as a previous cesarean risk factor code. Our coding department says that this is correctly coded and the VSAC should include the O34.22. Can this be added to the VSAC for next year, or is there a way to capture the coded admitting diagnosis even without a POA indicator?
