Thank you for your question about CMS1028/PC-07 Severe Obstetric Complications. Calculated gestational age using the Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD) is the preferred method to determine gestational age (GA). If the EDD is not available (null), then a calculated GA will not be used and the estimated gestational age from a discrete field may be pulled for the measure. If the eCQM is pulling an EDD that does not reflect clinical practice, we recommend that you work with your EHR vendor to ensure the reports pulls the correct data. There is a similar Jira question which may be helpful: https://oncprojectracking.healthit.gov/support/browse/CQM-8264.

      Hello,

For PCM mom if the calculated gestational age is not mapped /pulled into the report and only the documentation of EGA at time of delivery or EGA from coding is used is that acceptable for data submission of PCM CY2025 through Oracle Cerner certified reports?

We have found the logic of pulling in calculated gestational age is not including patients in the denominator for the measure as it is intended; but the documentation of EGA at time of delivery and from coding is.

The way the eCQM is pulling and calculating the gestational is by using the latest EDD, not the authoritative so that is why the EGA at delivery maybe the best and most accurate EGA to pull; but it defaults to look at the calculated EGA first, then the other two.

Would looking at EGA documented at delivery first be acceptable?
Or do we have to leave it as is to look as calculated EGA based on EDD first?
