      Thank you for your question regarding CMS506v7, Safe Use of Opioids - Concurrent Prescribing. Please reference the eCQI Resource Center for the most current specification, value sets, and OIDs that are used for electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs).

      The specifications state, patients have cancer pain that begins prior to or during the encounter are excluded, as defined in the value set "Cancer Related Pain" (OID 2.16.840.1.113762.1.4.1111.180).

      You can also reference the applicable codes containing these value sets on the Value Set Authority Center (VSAC) at https://vsac.nlm.nih.gov/. Click on the “Search Value Sets” tab and enter the value set ID to review codes included in the respective value set.

    • Potentially utilizing the incorrect Value Set

      Hello-

      When looking at the eCQM specs on the eCQI center for Opioid Concurrent Prescribing, we see that cancer related pain is an exclusion via OID: 1111.180.

      However-when looking at the CBEID* site, cancer related pain remains an exclusion however, a different OID is noted: 1111.161.

       

      Should we be utilizing CBEID OIDs or only those on the eCQI resource site?
