The denominator exclusions for this measure are patients with confirmed diagnosis of COVID with COVID-related respiratory condition or patients with confirmed diagnosis of COVID with a COVID-related respiratory procedure during the encounter. The numerator exclusions are for inpatient hospitalizations with a blood transfusion or hysterectomy with a diagnosis of placenta percreta or placenta increta and no additional severe obstetrical complications. Whether or not a patient has pre-eclampsia, documented AKI that is mapped to the Acute Renal Failure value set would qualify for the measure for Severe Maternal Morbidity.
