      Thank you for your inquiry regarding CMS986v4, the Global Malnutrition Composite Score (now Malnutrition Care Score, MCS).

      The logic evaluates all Malnutrition Risk Screenings with results during a qualifying encounter meeting the Initial Population criteria. For the Dietitian Referral there is no timing logic other than that it takes place during Global."HospitalizationWithObservation" ( QualifyingEncounter ). Our testing of this scenario was as expected – please see attached image. Regarding your MO6 being greater than 100, please work with your EMR to ensure accurate mapping.

      We are seeing that when a patient initially has an MST screening that is "not at risk" and then becomes "at risk" during their inpatient stay that prompts a RD consult and malnutrition diagnosis, their final score in MO6 is >100.  Which MST score does the system pull?  Does it take into account MST scores that happen after RD is consulted?
