A facility’s risk-adjusted rate may be higher or lower than the observed rate depending upon their case mix, since the risk-adjusted rate represents the hospital’s relative performance compared to other hospitals with the same case mix. The CY 2024 PC-07 FAQ posted on QualityNet (https://qualitynet.cms.gov/inpatient/measures/ecqm/resources#tab2) has additional information about risk-adjustment and how the risk-adjusted is calculated for this measure.

Seeking additional information on POA Risk variables can be identified in the feedback reports.  The HUG appears to indicte the will have a "1"  (the umber 1 with quatation marks  in the variable column.  We have verified in our QRDA file was submitted with the appropriae POA information. Our risk adjusted rate is significantly higer than expected and need to verify the information we submitted was evaluated accurately.  Since the preview period ends 9/3 we would like verify there are no errors in the risk adjusted rate calculation.
