Thank you for your question regarding CMS506v7 Safe Use of Opioids - Concurrent Prescribing. The specifications state, patients discharged to other acute inpatient facilities are excluded, as defined in the value set "Discharge To Acute Care Facility" (OID 2.16.840.1.113883.3.117.1.7.1.87). This value set includes community hospitals, tertiary referral hospitals, and acute care hospitals. Patients transferred to an IP Rehab, IP psych, and SAR are not excluded.

Denominator exclusion for safe opioid use says discharge to inpatient care facility.  We do not see definition for what is considered an inpatient care unit. Does it include IP Rehab, IP psych, SAR, etc?
      Thanks
