Thank you for inquiring about the Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan eCQM. A Cancer fatigue test is not explicitly developed and validated to assess depression status and thus cannot be used to evaluate compliance. The measure’s Guidance section expressly notes that "An age-appropriate, standardized, and validated depression screening tool must be used for numerator compliance”.

If a provider performs a ‘Cancer Fatigue’ test, will it count towards the Numerator criteria for CMS2v14 - Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan ? The measure specifications ‘Definition’ section says that “Examples of standardized depression screening tools include but are not limited to” . So, I just want to confirm if a Cancer Fatigue test qualifies under the ‘are not limited to’ criteria of the definition. Please advise.
