Value Set ICD10CM codes include categories

      This issue has the same resolution as CQM-807:
      The issue points out an important qualification that should be considered when crafting value sets. We agree that even though ICD "category codes" should never appear in a patient record, their inclusion in a value set should not lead to inappropriate patient inclusion or exclusion for eCQMs.

      In the future, value set authors should be discouraged from including these code types. Changes to value sets can only occur at annual updates.

      MU2 Value Set data includes a number of ICD10CM codes that are "categories." These codes should likely be removed as they are not valid per ICD10CM guidelines. Attached is the list of MU2 Value Set (June Update) related to the issue.
