Thank you for your question regarding CMS832v3, Hospital Harm - Acute Kidney Injury and CMS1218v2, Hospital Harm - Postoperative Respiratory Failure. We will consider approaches to align this QDM data element across the two eCQMs in future iterations of the measures.

The QDM data element for "Body Temperature" is modeled differently between the HH-AKI and HH-RF eCQMs. We are trying to understand why.

      HH-AKI

In this eCQM, the LOINC codes for Body Temperature are selected from a valueset which has 21 codes.

      HH-RF (Postoperative Respiratory Failure)

In this eCQM, the Body Temperature is limited to a single direct reference LOINC code 8310-5.

Is there a reason to capture the Body Temperature differently in the 2 eCQMs?

Is it possible to align this QDM element between the 2 eCQMs?
