May inadvertently put patients into the denominator
Dear JIRA,
RE: HH Severe Hyperglycemia
871
I have a question about the human readable AND the Written Logic.
For the initial population, it says: Administration of at least one dose of insulin or any hypoglycemic medication that starts during the encounter; or
- Presence of at least one glucose value >=200 mg/dL at any time during the encounter.
If a patient is in the hospital for 30 days and does not have a diagnosis of diabetes but ONLY has a blood glucose of > 300 or > or equal to 200 on day 25 – Is this patient in the Initial population / denominator?
(Or are these values restricted to the first 10 days?)
Thanks,
Kim
