Thank you for your inquiry regarding Anticoagulation Therapy for Atrial Fibrillation/Flutter (CMS71v14).

The respective measure teams removed length of stay (LOS) >=120-day evaluation from CMS71, Antithrombotic Therapy by End of Hospital Day 2 (CMS72), Discharged on Antithrombotic Therapy (CMS104), Safe Use of Opioids (Safe Use), Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis (CMS108) and Intensive Care Unit Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis (CMS190) for the 2025 Reporting Year.

The 120-day LOS criterion was originally included in the chart-abstracted measures due to constraints related to the reporting period. However, this restriction is no longer suitable for electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) and has therefore been removed from the Inpatient Encounter definition in the Global Common Library. The corresponding updates in CMS71, CMS72, and CMS104 reflect this change and ensure alignment with the revised Global Common Library specifications.

      Hi team,

Was comparing CY2024 and CY2025 specs for STK-3 (CMS71) and noticed that there seems to be no longer a 120-day restriction on the length of stay in the newer version. Can you confirm that's been removed.  Bonus: If so, any idea why?

      Thank you.

p.s. Also noticing the 120-days restriction dropped in the newer versions of the other STK measures (STK-2/CMS104 and STK-5/CMS72), as well as in the newer versions of Opioids (CMS506) and VTE-1 and -2 (CMS108, CMS190).
