Can you clarify when the case would occur that a patient with principal procedure included in either the Hip Replacement Surgery or Knee Replacement Surgery value sets during the qualifying encounter would NOT be excluded due to those value sets also being included in the SCIP VTE Selected Surgery criteria for Denominator Exclusions? I'm confused as to why they're included in the logic for Numerator inclusion {Encounter with Prior or Present Procedure of Hip or Knee Replacement Surgery} if they've already been excluded from the denominator per the SCIP VTE Selected Surgery value sets. I can't figure out the difference between when our cases with principal procedure included in the Hip or Knee Replacement value sets that occur during the qualifying encounter should be excluded from the denominator or not, despite reviewing the specs & measure logic.
I initially submitted to Quality Net support & they referred me here via case CS2495124
