Thank you for your question related to the use of codes in Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs). Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs) rely on the associated codes listed in the coding sets, or "value sets" found in the Value Set Authority Center (VSAC) to capture the eligible encounter, quality action criteria, and other elements of any particular measure. The names and identifiers for each value set are found in the data criteria section of each eCQM measure specification. If a Category II code is included in a specific value set, it is appropriate for use in the measure.

Note, detailed eCQM measure specifications, which contain the value sets and coding required to report measures, can be downloaded and reviewed on the eCQI Resource Center page here https://ecqi.healthit.gov/. Value sets are located on The National Library of Medicine's Value Set Authority Center (VSAC), https://vsac.nlm.nih.gov/ . The VSAC provides downloadable access to all official versions of value set content contained in the eCQM specifications. For further information on MIPS eligible clinician types and requirements, please refer to the information located on the Quality Payment Program website: https://qpp.cms.gov/mips/how-eligibility-is-determined#mips-eligible-clinician-types . Thank you and please let us know if you have any further questions.

I am trying to ascertain whether the use of CPT II codes are included as a component of QRDA 1 files which support numerator satisfaction in eCQM file generation. For example, is there a confirmed dataset of CPT II codes which are extractible in the QRDA 1/.xml/HL 7 format that will assist us in meeting Medicare eCQM reporting requirements (outside of Part B/claim reporting)?

Thank you for any assistance, guidance or resources that you may be able to provide,

      Sharon Woo
