Thank you very much for your inquiry on CMS0951v3 Kidney Health Evaluation. In order to meet the numerator requirements, patients must receive both Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) and Urine Albumin-Creatinine Ratio (uACR) within the measurement period.

Regarding the Known Issue (EKI-32), please work with your laboratory in implementing the workaround for non-numeric results. The workaround is found in the attachment in Known Issue (EKI-32). If additional support is needed, the National Kidney Foundation, has a team supporting laboratories who are interested in deploying this simple workaround. Please contact the National Kidney Foundation (NKF.Lab@kidney.org) with further questions about the implementation of this workaround.

      CMS 951: Kidney Health Evaluation
Considering the known issue, EKI-32, are we required to complete both screenings within the measurement period to meet the measure, or is it sufficient to complete either the eGFR or the uACR for numerator compliance?

      CMS 951: Kidney Health Evaluation
-Measure Description: Percentage of patients aged 18-85 years with a diagnosis of diabetes who received a kidney health evaluation defined by an Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) AND Urine Albumin-Creatinine Ratio (uACR) within the measurement period.
-We need clarification. The measure is asking us to report on serum Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) AND Urine Albumin-Creatinine Ratio (uACR) within the measurement period. However, you have announced a known issue (EKI-32) with non-numeric lab values showing as not met.
1- Are we required to complete both screenings within the measurement period to meet the measure, or is it sufficient to complete either the eGFR or the uACR for numerator compliance?
2- Regarding the known issue, EKI-32, while the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is aware and is working on addressing this issue, if we are required to report on the uACR, how do we achieve numerator compliance when the lab sends us a result that is non-numeric?
