Thank you for your question regarding CMS153v13 (2025 Performance Period). The intent of this measure is to include patients who have had a chlamydia test performed on a genitourinary sample (e.g., cervix, vaginal, urine, etc.). Currently, this measure does not include tests performed on the eye. We do not provide prescriptive guidance on mapping the value sets. If mapping is performed, you should maintain documentation in case of a CMS audit.

In regard to CMS 153 Chlamydia Screening in Women, we have a lab test that tests for Chlamydia where the specimen is gathered from the eye. The result component for this procedure is currently mapped to LOINC code 99778-3. When looking at the value set for Laboratory Test, Performed: Chlamydia Screening, the 99778-3 LOINC code does not show up. I am wondering if there is an alternative LOINC code to choose to meet this measure or if this should not be mapped since the specimen is gathered from the eye.
