Thank you for question on CMS107v2: Excessive Radiation Dose or Inadequate Image Quality for Diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) in Adults (Facility IQR). It is safe to assume day level precision for calculating age at start of measurement period. It was not intended to vary from other calculations.

    • Potentially inaccurate calculation for age

In this IP-Ex-Rad eCQM, the age calculation is specified as follows -

Note - it states "start of" and does not specify "date from start of".

In every other eCQM (see example from STK-2 below), there is a clear specification "date from start of" when age is calculated, so we know if we need to use date or date/time in the calculation. In the IP-Ex-Rad eCQM, this "date from" is not specified for the AgeinYearsAt calculation (see screenshot above).

Is this discrepancy intentional or an oversight? Is there a specific reason to define this differently from every other inpatient eCQM?

What is the expectation - should we be using "date from" or datetime from" when calculating the AgeinYearsAt?
