      Thank you for your question regarding CMS832: Hospital Harm – Acute Kidney Injury. Risk-adjustment is applied after a measure score is calculated. Only patients who qualify for the denominator (post denominator exclusion) are included in the risk adjusted population. As a result, patients who are excluded from the measure will not be included in the risk-adjusted measure score.

      I've looked at the risk adjustment methodology for this measure. Am I correct in my understanding that all patients in the denominator and numerator will be used for the risk adjustment, while denominator exclusion patients will not be counted as part of the risk adjusted population?  Thank you!
