Without having this information, if we are being asked to make an assumption, it is likely that our assumption may differ from CMS and TJC and that could lead to mismatch in the results between the CMS and TJC systems and our vendor system.
This is a follow up question to one of the questions asked in the item - https://oncprojectracking.healthit.gov/support/browse/QRDA-1218.
For the question related to the age (Age at the start of the Measurement Period, does that refer to a Quarter? So, the calculation is comparing Date of Birth to the start of a Quarter, and the Quarter is determined by the CT Scan date?), your response was the following -
Specific to your question asking if Age at the start of the Measurement Period refers to a quarter, the measurement period is a parameter to this measure and could be a quarter or a year. This determination is made by whoever is generating the measure report. The measure itself, ensure that the patient was at least 18 years of age at the start of the measurement period being reported on.
I have a follow up question -
Can CMS and TJC tell us exactly what they are expecting to use as the Measurement Period for calculating the Age in this eCQM?
- Will their system use start of the Measurement Period of 2025 to calculate the age (irrespective of which quarterly file it is) - i.e. Jan 1, 2025 at 00:00:00? OR
- Will their system use start of each quarter (since these files are being submitted quarterly) e.g. for Q2, 2025 data, would they use April 1, 2025 at 00:00:00 to calculate the age?
Without having this information, if we are being asked to make an assumption which date to use, it is likely that our assumption may differ from CMS and TJC and that could lead to mismatch in the results between the CMS and TJC systems and our vendor system.
Thanks!
