Thank you for your question regarding CMS506v6 Safe Use of Opioids - Concurrent Prescribing. The measure logic specifies that the opioids must be distinct, which means that they must have different RXNorm codes. Since the Hydrocodone in your example are different strengths (Hydrocodone 5-325mg and Hydrocodone 7.5-325mg), they will have different RXNorm codes and would be considered distinct. A patient prescribed both Hydrocodone 5-325mg and Hydrocodone 7.5-325mg at discharge would be included in the measure numerator.

      Hello,

For eCQM Safe Use of Opioids, should a patient be included in the numerator if they are discharged on two different doses of the same medication? Example: Hydrocodone 5-325mg and Hydrocodone 7.5-325mg?

      Thank you.
