Thank you for your inquiry regarding CMS122v12 (2024 Performance Period). The intent of the measure is to evaluate a patient's most recent HbA1c level to determine if it is greater than 9.0%, missing, or if the test was not performed during the measurement period. If the most recent record for the HbA1c is the first record you mentioned in your question, the measure will consider the missing result as an indication of insufficient control, since the most recent test should have a result to ensure that the patient's HbA1c value is known.

Please review the measure specification for further details about measure requirements: https://ecqi.healthit.gov/sites/default/files/ecqm/measures/CMS122v12.html.

    • Numerator calculation

      Hi there,

We are submitting CMS 122 measure for MSSP program. We have 2 records for HbA1c test,

One record is for test performed with datetime e.g. patient had HBA1c test on 12/04/2024 10:30 am.

Another record with the results for test, but this record only captures the date no time e.g. patient had HbA1c test on 12/04/2024 with results 7.2

So according to measure when we do most recent record for HbA1c test if we consider the Hours and minutes of the test  record 1 is latest but does not have any result. So patient will be numerator compliant. Do in reality the test result is < 9.0

So, can we consider the most recent records of a day. So patient will not be numerator compliant.

      Please advise

      Thanks,

      Ramya
