In current state, our enterprise is not able to capture all anesthesia-related data for cath lab and interventional radiology procedures. Implementing this measure will be problematic. This impacts the eCQM reporting for 187+ facilities across the enterprise.

Among many others, this measure requires the capture of the following two data elements:

      ASA Score

      Anesthesia Service Times (start/stop timestamps)

While this is easily captured within the EHR for our OR and endoscopy procedures, our cath lab and interventional radiology procedures are primarily documented in 3rd-party applications that are not certified technology or integrated with the EHR. Similarly, anesthesia services for these procedures would also be recorded within a 3rd-party, non-certified healthcare technology platform that is also not integrated with the EHR.
