Our team will review the available codes across all terminologies as part of the CMS Annual Update process and refine value sets, where necessary, to align with the measure intent.

The CMS code set for the depression screening measure includes 4 codes for antepartum care + delivery + postpartum care, but does not include codes for antepartum care only (59425 or 59426) or for postpartum care only (59430).We do not perform deliveries directly, so do not bill the delivery, but have a large amount of patients who see us for both the antepartum and postpartum care who I feel should be included in the measure but their visit codes are not pulling them in because our report was set up to match the CMS code set. This has a significant impact on our overall performance on the measure. The work is being done on the clinical end and should be recognized.
