The vast majority of hospitals are capturing Economic Housing Instability in structured clinical documentation fields to meet requirements of the SDOH measures. The value set for this data element only contains ICD codes AND requires a POA code to be included in the QRDA file for submission and subsequent risk adjustment.

I understand that the QDM doesn't prescribe the source of data in the EHR but in this case, it appears that the expectation is that the economic house instability documentation with ICD and POA come from coding/billing. Can you confirm?

For this specific data element, is there consideration in future measurement review period to remove the POA requirement so that clinical documentation can be a source for the data?
