For 2025 the Joint Commission is adding the following optional eCQMs to meet reporting requirements:

      • Excessive Radiation Dose or Inadequate Image Quality for Diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) in Adults (Inpatient) (IP-ExRad)
      • Excessive Radiation Dose or Inadequate Image Quality for Diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) in Adults (Outpatient) (OP-ExRad)

and adding the following optional eCQM to meet ORYX requirements:
-Excessive Radiation Dose or Inadequate Image Quality for Diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) in Adults (OP-ExRad)—submit a minimum of one self-selected quarter

Given that only Diagnostic Computed Tomography is specified, does that mean that Radiation Oncology simulations using Computed Tomography for treatment planning purposes (i.e. non-diagnostic purposes) are exempted from the above reporting requirements?

      Thank you for your help!
