      Thank you for your inquiry regarding CMS122v12 (2024 Performance Period). CMS122v12 excludes hospice, palliative care, and other advanced illness/frailty indications per measure intent. At this time, we are not excluding deceased patients from this measure, but we will consider this exclusion in a future iteration.

      Measures CMS22v12 and CMS2v14 also do not exclude deceased patients. CMS22v12 excludes patients who have an active diagnosis of hypertension, while CMS2v14 excludes patients who have ever been diagnosed with bipolar disorder at any time prior to the qualifying encounter. We will also consider patient death as an exclusion in the upcoming annual update for these measures.

      This question is in regards to CMS122v12, CMS22v12, CMS2v14. If a patient dies during the performance year, are they excluded from the aforementioned measures?
