The Initial Population of the measure is defined as “Inpatient hospitalizations during the measurement period with length of stay of 24 hours or more among individuals 65 years of age and older at the start of the inpatient encounter.” Therefore, the inclusion of behavioral health patients will depend on the documented classification of the visit encounter. If the behavioral health patient encounter is classified as an inpatient encounter and the patient meets the other population inclusion criteria, it will be included in the measure.
