      Thank you for your inquiry regarding CMS2v13: Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan. Per the guidance section in the measure specification, the measure requires use of a normalized and validated depression screening tool developed for the patient population in which it is being utilized. The measure's definition section does list examples of depression screening tools; however, this list is not meant to be exhaustive. Therefore, use of the DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress Scales) is an appropriate standardized depression screening tool that meets numerator requirements.
