      Yes, continuous glucose monitoring devices can be used to monitor glucose. Within the section Clinical Recommendation Statement, Recommendation 1.1, “…, we suggest the use of real-time continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) with confirmatory bedside point-of-care blood glucose (POC-BG) monitoring for adjustments….".

      Therefore, if a continuous glucose monitoring device is used, a POC-BG should also be used to confirm the CGM result.

      Hello, if a patient comes in with their own continuous glucose monitoring device and we have their result in our system, but it's labeled as external source, are we still taking that as a result in this measure? We had a patient with a hypoglycemic event from a third party device and was placed in a numerator due to this. Thank you.
