We appreciate your suggestion to include comparable ICD-10-PCS/CPT codes in the value set for the “Endotracheal Intubation” For clarity, we are referring to the value set linked here: https://vsac.nlm.nih.gov/valueset/2.16.840.1.113762.1.4.1045.69/expansion   CPT codes, such as 31500, can be used in both the inpatient and outpatient settings but we understand the scenario you would like to capture.   In addition, we appreciate your suggestion to include ICD-10-DGN code J96.0 for respiratory failure in the value set for the “Cardiopulmonary Arrest” measure exclusion.   To ensure accurate measure calculation, we recommend working with your EHR vendor to document patient diagnoses and procedures using the codes in the value sets. In the meantime, the measure developer will consider refinements to these denominator exclusion’s value sets during a future Annual Update.
