Thank you for your follow-up inquiry regarding the Appropriate Treatment for ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) Patients in the Emergency Department (ED) measure. As you note, the issue of patients arriving to the ED with a STEMI and ultimately not receiving a PCI has been previously brought to our attention. The measure developer is continuing to investigate this issue as part of the Annual Update process and will work with CMS as appropriate to reflect any refinements to the measure specifications. We appreciate your patience and input.

    • Direct impact to the measure as there are no exclusions for patients who are downgraded with a cath procedure showing no stemi

See CQM 6258 - now closed.  Asking again as I see the updates for Version 5 but no mention of the previously discussed exclusion.  Can we please get a follow up?  I have seen multiple tickets regarding stemi patients who are a stemi in ED upon arrival but after a cath procedure they are downgraded as there was no need for PCI, medication, or a transfer. The tickets all are closed stated it will be reviewed annually. I do not see any update this section but the last comment states "has been captured on our changes for review during the annual update".  Please let me know.  Thank you.
