Rather, they are defined as full 24-hour periods that start at the time of admission to the hospital (including emergency department and observation), excluding the last period before inpatient discharge from the hospital if that period is less than 24 hours.

      We are working with our EHR support to accurately understand the measure specifications for the definition of "day". Are we looking at the time as day to day or is it specifically a breakdown of hour to hour covering a 24 hour clock?
