Thank you for your inquiry. This measure describes the clinical outcome of cataract surgery procedure, which is the responsibility of the operating surgeon. The outcome would not be able to be attributed to or be the responsibility of individuals performing the pre-operative care or the post-operative care only.

    • We are unable to meet the numerator requirements to obtain benchmark scores due to many of our patients having a modifier 55 associated with them because they are comanaged.

With Quality 191 (CQM), patients that had cataract surgery with modifier 55 or 56 are not pulled into the denominator of this measure and are not counted towards an eligible case. With eCQM 133v12, does the above still hold true as well? With reporting as an eCQM, are patients with a modifier 55 or 56 not pulled into the denominator either?

      Thank you!
