Thank you for inquiring about CMS2v13 (Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan). Please note that the resolution for this known issue—EKI-22—is not limited to a particular clinician type. Therefore, if a PCP or any other clinician documents either SNOMED-CT code for a patient who was already diagnosed and being managed for depression, then this will meet the numerator criteria, assuming all other criteria are also met.

Can CT 410234004 (Management of mental health treatment (procedure)) or SNOMED CT 410232000 (Mental health treatment assessment (procedure)) be used by a PCP who decides to continue a patient’s antidepressant medication and does not order a refill for a patient with an active diagnosis of depression who is currently receiving treatment for a follow-up after a positive depression screen if there are no changes to the current treatment or is this only appropriate for a behavioral health provider to meet the numerator criteria for the Preventive Care & Screening: Screening for Depression & Follow Up Plan measure?
