Yes, this is the way that the measure should be reported: the visual acuity (VA) should be best corrected visual acuity, and the laterality of the VA needs to be documented so that the VA can be matched to the eye that had the cataract surgery.

20/40 or better visual acuity within the 90 days after cataract surgery
After going through our reports and looking at this 20/40 or better visual acuity within the 90 days after cataract surgery, I noticed that we hadn't met the measure for most of the patients. When I spoke to the Registry they had me contact our EHR company to see what information was extracted. I was told by our EHR that we have to document the VA laterally and with correction. Is this they way everyone is reporting this measure?
