Thank you for your inquiry regarding CMS50v11, QID 374, Closing the Referral Loop: Receipt of Specialist Report and for clarifying the practice as a group. CMS defines a MIPS group as: “A group is defined as a single TIN with 2 or more clinicians (at least one clinician within the group must be MIPS eligible) as identified by their NPI, who have reassigned their Medicare billing rights to a single TIN.“

For the measure, the reporting provider (group TIN, for your practice) makes the referral. The measure logic does not specifically confirm that the referral is associated with another TIN; it only confirms referral ID, author dateTime information, and documentation of a consultant report received. So, for your specific scenario, the TIN would account for any consultative referrals where a report was received within the measure-defined timeframe (even if it comes from another specialty provider within the practice.)

      Good Afternoon,

I have a question regarding CMS50v11, 374, Closing the referral loop: receipt of specialist report ECQM.

We have four doctors in our practice, one has a fellowship in EMG (Overview. Electromyography (EMG) is a diagnostic procedure to assess the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them (motor neurons).  Our other doctors refer to him to do the testing and he then sends them a completed report.

Would this qualify for the above measure.  Each doctors have their own NPI number.
