Thank you for your follow-up inquiry. Each CMS program has a specific definition for “Eligible Clinician” (or EC). Note that to report EC eCQMs, both the application of an appropriate EC definition and the appropriate encounter types included in the EC eCQM specification are required. An extended care facility alone does not meet the requirements for an EC and, if in the absence of an appropriately defined EC, should be excluded from reporting eCQM results. However, if the provider reporting from the facility meets the requirements for an EC AND reports using a qualifying encounter type for the respective measures, then yes, reporting the measure based on patient data would be included. For further information on eligible clinician types and requirements for MSSP (Medicare Shared Savings Program), please refer to the information located on the CMS.gov website: https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/fee-for-service-providers/shared-savings-program-ssp-acos/guidance-regulations

Thank you for your inquiry. Please review each measure's specific data requirements. POS codes are not typically specified as EC eCQMs use data from electronic health records (EHRs) and/or health information technology (IT) systems.

    • We do not know whether to include ECF data in our eCQM calculations.

Regarding eCQM submissions for MY 2025: if we have an ECF that bills E&M codes under one of our TIN's in our MSSP agreement, do we need to include those patients in our eCQM calculations?
