    • Thank you for your question about CMS146v13 Appropriate Testing for Pharyngitis and CMS154v13 Appropriate Treatment for Upper Respiratory Infection (URI). The measure team will review potential inclusion of these codes in a future annual update cycle.
    • CMS0154v13
    • CMS0154v12

Could you please clarify the rationale for including viral codes in the competing conditions value set shared between measures 154 v13 and 146v13? How are these viral diagnoses, which may not typically require antibiotic treatment considered within the criteria for competing conditions. I have included a few code examples:

      A08.0 Rotaviral enteritis
      A08.2 Adenoviral enteritis
      A08.39 Other viral enteritis
      186668002 Gammaherpesviral mononucleosis (disorder)
231803006 Viral dermatitis of eyelid (disorder)
232222008 Acute viral otitis externa (disorder)
240545008 Anogenital papillomaviral intraepithelial neoplasia (disorder)
24789006 Viral gastroenteritis caused by Norwalk-like agent (disorder)
      308119005 Infantile viral gastroenteritis (disorder)
402796000 Neonatal viral infection of skin (disorder)
402904001 Viral wart on finger (disorder)
