Thank you for question on CMS2v13: Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan.

The Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code 1220F is not used in any of the value sets for the Denominator or the Numerator for this measure. If you use CPT code 1220F you will not meet the Numerator criteria for this measure. Please reference the measure specifications, that can be found at the eCQI Resource Center https://ecqi.healthit.gov/, you can use internal search functionality (top right corner) and enter ‘CMS2v13’ to see the measure specifications (found near the bottom of the measure specification). The measures use ‘value sets’ which are lists of unique coded identifiers with names (called descriptors) for groupings of clinical and administrative concepts selected from standard vocabularies. To see the contents of the value sets used in the measure logic you can reference the applicable codes containing these value sets on the Value Set Authority Center (VSAC) at https://vsac.nlm.nih.gov/, which is maintained by the National Library of Medicine in collaboration with CMS. Click on the “Search Value Sets” tab and enter the value set ID to review codes included in the respective value set. The VSAC provides downloadable access to all official versions of value set content contained in the eCQM specifications.

    • Will affect the updates made in order to capture all of the data for the Depression Screening and Follow Up Plan measure.

Question: When we are submitting data in a QRDA 1 (or any form) are we able to use code 1220F to identify measure #134 Screening for Depression and Follow Up Plan CMS2? Do the billing codes affect the outcome of the scores at all?
